Head of Network Management | Deliveroo

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Deliveroo, focusing on the real-time execution and reliability of its delivery network across all European markets, with supporting scope in the Middle East. The Live Network team is the center of excellence for network management execution, owning the on-the-ground response when rider supply is needed, live issues threaten service, or incentives need to go live. This position is critical for translating diagnostics into actionable responses, keeping the network balanced hour by hour, and resolving issues as they surface. It plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for customers, partners, and riders across a complex, three-sided marketplace.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: European markets with Middle East scope
• Team: Live Network team, reporting to the Director of Regional Operations
• Mission: To own the live execution and reliability of Deliveroo’s delivery network.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership: Lead the Live Network function across all Deliveroo’s European markets, acting as the go-to on rider incentives and network performance execution.
• Network Operations: Own real-time network balance by ensuring the correct number of riders are online, in the right place, at the right time, every day.
• Issue Management: Track, diagnose, and resolve live network issues at speed, serving as the escalation point for complex or cross-market challenges.
• Process & Best Practice: Develop scalable processes and playbooks to enable consistent team operation across geographies, building strong relationships with country-level regional operations teams to spread best practice.
• Team & Stakeholder Management: Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, focusing on those early in their careers, and keep senior stakeholders updated through regular reporting on live network outcomes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep understanding of delivery network mechanics, accounting for both similarities and differences across markets. A proven people leader with experience coaching and developing junior team members.
• Experience: Strong track record operating in live, high-pressure environments. Demonstrated ability to use large datasets to uncover insights and track impact.
• Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, confident stakeholder management, effective communication with senior leaders, analytical and data-driven approach, action-oriented, resilient, and adaptable.
• Bonus: Flexibility with timing is required, as this role will, from time to time, involve oversight and activity outside of normal working hours.
