As a Property Accountant, you will be crucial in maintaining the financial integrity of an assigned property portfolio, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported. This role is essential for reliable financial operations, supporting the overall stability and transparency of the organization’s property management.

• Mission: Responsible for preparing, processing, reviewing, and evaluating financial transactions to ensure the accuracy of all financial data for an assigned property portfolio.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepares comprehensive monthly accounting packages, including full balance sheet and bank statement reconciliations, and records all necessary journal entries and GL reclassifications for assigned properties.
• Audit Support: Assembles audit work paper packages for each property, assists auditors with preliminary fieldwork, and enters any audit adjustments into Yardi to tie out equity.
• Accounts Payable Management: Administers property-specific payments, including monthly management fees, mortgage principal and interest, and real estate taxes, while reviewing weekly check runs for proper authorization and accurate coding.
• Accounts Receivable Oversight: Compares accounts receivable posted by Property Managers in Yardi to actual bank activity to ensure all deposits are correctly recorded.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, with a BA/BS in Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in Accounting is required.
• Skills: Expertise in financial transaction processing, general ledger and financial reporting, balance sheet and bank statement reconciliation, and audit support.
• Bonus: Knowledge of YARDI.
