Assurance Intern- Spring 2027 | Sorren

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Sorren, located in St. Petersburg, FL. Sorren is a top 50 national advisory firm that provides strategic solutions in accounting, assurance, tax, advisory, and private client services. This role is crucial for delivering timely, accurate work, supporting assurance procedures, and establishing a foundational understanding of accounting practices within a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Support various assurance procedures including audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures.
• Document: Reconcile workpapers to trial balance accounts and maintain neat, complete, and organized documentation.
• Apply: Learn and apply basic concepts of GAAP, GAAS, and other financial reporting frameworks.
• Analyze: Help determine testing scope, select samples, and apply an audit mindset to tasks.
• Report: Support the preparation of draft financial statements and help identify potential issues for discussion.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Bachelor Degree. Career level: Entry-Level. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Understanding of audit standards and proficiency in learning and utilizing audit-related software and tools. Requires a full-time commitment.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, accurate mathematical and accounting skills.
