The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at MDD Forensic Accountants, located in Melville. This role serves as an essential supporting function of the accounting team, helping to calculate the true economic damage of claims or disputes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Review reports and schedules, and participate in strategic planning sessions with the accounting team.
• Data Processing & Verification: Input financial data, analyze invoices, and verify claims against source documents.
• Forensic Investigation Support: Perform forensic research to trace funds, identify assets for recovery, and assist clients with interviews during financial investigations.
• Claim Evaluation: Evaluate insurance claims and calculate economic damage for various disputes.
• Reporting & Compliance: Assist in preparing accounting reports from financial findings and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Entry-level accounting experience.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task; Possess a professional demeanor and positive outlook; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Bonus: Actively pursuing CPA designation; Ability to speak multiple languages; Willingness to travel internationally, potentially for extended periods of time; Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
