This role is crucial for introducing college students to the fundamental principles of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the practical application of internal audit processes, directly contributing to the company’s annual compliance and assurance efforts.

• Mission: To introduce an intern to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and internal audit phases, providing support for critical compliance and assurance services.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Introduces SOX Compliance: Gain exposure to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act through annual compliance project planning.
• Tests Controls: Conduct process walkthroughs and perform control testing.
• Supports Internal Audits: Participate as a team member on an internal audit, gaining perspective on the phases and the auditor’s role.
• Delivers Assurance: Contribute to offering critical compliance and assurance services.
• Assists Planning: Help with the annual audit plan.
• Communicates Progress: Regularly communicate work progress, concerns, and questions with your supervisor.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College students entering their Junior or Senior year at an accredited College or University, studying accounting, finance, or related areas. Must possess a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience are required. However, previous internships, work, or coursework experience with a public accounting/consulting firm or industry exposure is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities; Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Demonstrated out-of-the-box thinking, problem-solving, relationship building, and interpersonal skills; Highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; Fluent in English, both orally and written.
