2027 Summer Intern – Enterprise Controls Assurance | First Citizens Bank
The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship at First Citizens Bank, located in Raleigh, NC. First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program designed to provide development opportunities and hands-on work experience, fostering a talent pipeline for the Bank. Interns apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities served. This role is crucial for strengthening the bank’s SOX, FDICIA, and Regulatory Reporting Controls Programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage: Participate as part of a dynamic team on interesting projects within Enterprise Controls Assurance.
• Support: Provide assistance in areas such as research, analytics, strategy, process review and improvement, and technology enhancements and support.
• Develop: Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking events, and community service activities.
• Execute: Be assigned a specific project designed to improve a process or solve a problem.
• Present: Prepare and deliver a wrap-up presentation outlining accomplishments and experience during the internship to division leaders and key stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution during the summer program’s duration.
• Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience. Ability to work 40 hours per week from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
• Skills: Adaptability, strong verbal and written communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Bonus: Focus of study in Accounting, Banking, Audit, or related fields; rising junior or senior academic standing; 3.0 minimum GPA; strong desire to learn and grow; positive attitude; natural curiosity; enjoyment of collaboration; ability to multitask; and ability to take direction and absorb information quickly.
