Accountant I (Hybrid) | Alliant Insurance Services

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Alliant Insurance Services, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms. The company operates through specialized national platforms and local offices, offering clients a comprehensive portfolio of innovative risk management and benefits solutions. This role is crucial for supporting the month-end close process, contributing to accurate financial records, and assisting with process improvement efforts across the organization. The position works proactively with business partners to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant laws.

• Mission: To assist with recording journal entries and transaction analysis, supporting the month-end close for Alliant Insurance and its subsidiaries.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite, MS Excel, Applied EPIC, Kofax, Hyperion, PowerBI, Salesforce, Benefit Point, Blackline, Oracle

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monthly Closing Support: Assist in the monthly closing process, including preparing routine journal entries and flux analysis for non-complex transactions.
• Reconciliation: Prepare routine balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Transaction Research: Assist Accountants and Senior Accountants with detailed transaction research as needed.
• Consolidation Support: Support financial statement consolidations for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Reporting & Audit Assistance: Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit deliverables.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; entry-level career stage.
• Experience: Prior accounting experience is preferred; insurance industry experience is also preferred.
• Skills: Effective communication and ability to work in a team; strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task; strong analytical and organizational skills; basic understanding of internal controls; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and intermediate MS Excel skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to ERP/Finance systems such as Applied EPIC, Kofax, Hyperion, PowerBI, Salesforce, Benefit Point, Blackline, and Oracle.
