Accountant | Fresh Express

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fresh Express, located in Windermere, FL. Fresh Express manages corporate accounting, including TransFresh operations, and operates within the raw/food industry. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, providing critical financial reporting for business insight, and ensuring strict adherence to both GAAP and internal control standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-End Close: Take responsibility for the timely and accurate completion of month-end accounting close and associated tasks.
• Data Management: Update and manipulate multiple databases while ensuring proper database management, accuracy, and data quality.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly variance and trend analysis reports, along with ad hoc reports as needed.
• Compliance & Reconciliation: Prepare related account reconciliations and review General Ledger account balances for compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Business Support: Provide financial support to the business through teamwork with analysts, identifying and recommending solutions for accounting issues, and streamlining accounting transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. This is an early-career role in general accounting.
• Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of General Accounting experience.
• Skills: Microsoft Excel proficiency including VLOOKUP, pivot table, and external linking; working knowledge of ERP software; knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); excellent oral and written communication skills; strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data.
• Bonus: Raw / Food Industry experience is a plus, and Spanish language knowledge is helpful.
