German Intern/Trainee | RÖDL USA

The Tone:
This is an internship at RÖDL USA, available across multiple U.S. locations including Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Denver, CO, Detroit, MI, Greenville, SC, Houston, TX, Manhattan, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. RÖDL USA is a professional services firm dedicated to serving the accounting, auditing, and tax needs of foreign-owned, primarily German-speaking and European family businesses operating in the U.S. This role offers vital support in international auditing, accounting, and tax projects, providing hands-on experience and insights into a truly global business environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Temporary (6-month commitment)
• Location: In-person at various US offices
• Pay: $20–$32 hourly (specific to Chicago, Denver, and Manhattan metropolitan areas)
• Mission: Provide practical experience and support in international auditing, accounting, and tax projects for foreign-owned businesses in the U.S.
• Tech Stack: ProSystems Engagement, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Gather practical experience in various areas of US and German auditing and tax consulting.
• Receive training in accounting and auditing software, including ProSystems Engagement and Microsoft Excel.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, conduct cash audits, and assist with tax estimations.
• Collaborate within a high-performing and interdisciplinary team on client projects.
• Engage in challenging activities within an international business environment for US subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring at least three semesters of economics studies with a focus on international accounting, auditing, and/or taxes.
• Experience: Some theoretical and/or practical experience in accounting and/or taxes.
• Skills: Fluent German and English in both written and spoken communication, strong teamwork abilities, high performance commitment, self-initiative, high quality awareness, and good analytical skills.
• Bonus: Prior internships abroad and additional qualifications are advantageous.
