Operations Development Program – 2027 | Vermeer Corporation

The Tone:
This is a full-time, early career rotational program at Vermeer Corporation, located in Pella, IA. Vermeer equips customers doing important work around the world, manufacturing global equipment that manages natural resources, connects people, and feeds and fuels communities. This program is vital for accelerating the development of early career talent and building a pipeline of future Operations leaders within the company.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Develop future Operations leaders through accelerated training and diverse functional experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Rotations: Execute three, eight-month rotations to build leadership and functional skills through experiential and formal learning.
• Leadership: Develop capabilities in managing production areas as a Production Area Manager.
• Engineering: Contribute to various engineering projects, including Manufacturing, Quality, or Advanced Manufacturing.
• Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Operations or broader business processes.
• Procurement: Engage in procurement activities, potentially taking on roles as a Buyer or Commodity Manager.
• Transition: Secure a full-time position aligning skill sets with business needs upon successful completion of the program.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or Engineering.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, obtained through internships or previous work.
• Skills: Passion for problem-solving utilizing lean manufacturing principles, ability to manage challenging situations, and strong oral and written communication with attention to detail.
• Bonus: Bilingual fluency in Spanish.
