The TL;DR

• Location: In-person Houston, TX
• Mission: This person will ensure financial accuracy, improve accounting processes, and support strategic financial initiatives for a national organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Prepare, review, analyze, and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
• Process Improvement: Develop, implement, modify, and document monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks and associated systems using current computer technology.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to ensure costs are reported in the correct accounting period.
• Team Oversight: Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the offshore accounting team and prepare additional journal entries as needed.
• Strategic Support: Assist with the accounting integration related to acquisitions, special projects, and critical assignments as requested by management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or an equivalent field, with a strong understanding of US GAAP application.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting.
• Skills: General ledger reconciliation, financial variance analysis, accounting process documentation, and strong analytical abilities.
• Bonus: Certified Public Accounting Designation (CPA).
