Tax Internship – Spring 2028 | Wipfli

The Tone:
This is a Tax Internship at Wipfli, located in Wipfli offices or at client sites, requiring an in-person work arrangement. Wipfli is a professional services firm structured to provide attest, tax, and business consulting services. This role is vital for supporting client engagements by performing accounting and tax responsibilities, offering interns hands-on experience and skill development in client service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Respond: Address client and firm associate requests promptly, accurately, positively, and professionally.
• Gather: Collect necessary information from clients to complete required documents.
• Analyze: Utilize data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns for supporting recommendations.
• Prepare: Develop individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and projections in accordance with firm and professional standards.
• Research: Investigate tax-related issues and other related financial reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with required completion of a corporate or individual taxation class.
• Experience: Academic experience demonstrating above-average accounting knowledge (preferred 3.0 GPA or higher). Working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Skills: Strong data analysis skills; proficiency with current tax and accounting software applications; ability to think independently and make sound decisions; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize work, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data.
